Actor Vijay Deverakonda emphasized the importance of North-South collaborations in Indian cinema, suggesting that a film featuring Allu Arjun and Shah Rukh Khan would be a landmark success. Participating in the Cinema: The Soft Power panel at the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai, Deverakonda joined Kareena Kapoor Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar in discussing the evolving dynamics of Indian entertainment.
Highlighting the global appeal of language in cinema, Deverakonda cited Brad Pitt’s widespread success, attributing it to the reach of English-language films. He noted that Indian actors could achieve similar global recognition through strategic collaborations and broader language accessibility. The four-day summit, organized by the Government of India, also saw participation from prominent film personalities including Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Vikrant Massey, Ravi Mohan, and Om Raut.
