Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Devarakonda appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in Hyderabad today. In connection with the funding and alleged payments of the sports action drama Liger, the actor was called to the ED office on Wednesday.
As we know earlier this month, ED issued notices to the makers of the film including Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur. The ED questioned the duo for more than 12 hours at their office in Hyderabad which created a buzz among the film circles.
Coming back to Liger, the film was delivered by the Tollywood ace filmmaker Puri Jagannadh and backed up by Dharma Productions and Puri Connects. Starring Vijay Devarakonda and Ananya Panday in the lead roles, Liger revolves around a young man from the Mumbai slums and his journey as an MMA fighter.
Apart from the lead cast, the film also stars American fighter Mike Tyson in a special role while featuring Ramya Krishna, Ronit Roy, Ali, Chunky Pandey and others in supporting roles.
Shot and simultaneously released in Telugu and Hindi, Tiger opened to mixed to negative reviews in August of this year. The film failed to grab the audience’s attention and eventually turned into a box office bomb.
