USA BO : Samajavaragamana punches out $ 500K, Spy continues to struggle

Telugu film ‘Samajavaragamana’ emerged as a blockbuster hit in North America. Made on a shoestring budget, the Sree Vishnu starrer punched out $ 500K by Tuesday in USA to be termed as one of the biggest hits in 2023 in terms of return on investment.

Samajavaragamana embarked on a decent start with $ 27K from its Wednesday premieres last week. With glowing word of mouth and unanimous reviews, the collections gained good momentum with each passing day as it added $ 46K and $ 72K on Thursday and Friday respectively. With huge solid footfalls on Saturday and Sunday, the comedy caper nabbed $ 112K on Saturday and $ 106K on Sunday.

Showing good signs of a stronghold, the film added another $ 80K to its tally on Monday and with Tuesday’s advance sales, it surpassed the half-a-million-dollar mark in style. The rib-tickling comedy scenes and seamless narration helped the film garner positive talk from the first day and it resulted in strong numbers till now. It is likely to end up with more than $ 600K gross in the full run. This is a big feat for a small film.

Samajavaragamana is the biggest hit for Sree Vishnu in overseas. Directed by Ram Abbaraju, the film is produced with strong technical aspects by Rajesh Danda and Anil Sunkara.

On the other side, Nikhil Siddhartha’s Spy is struggling to cross the $ 350K mark after taking a phenomenal start with $ 165K from its premieres. The discouraging reviews impacted the box office run of Spy in all territories.
