Small films are doing a lot of talking at the US box office. Despite the low star cast, two films set the cash registers ringing because of impressive content and strong word of mouth. While Sree Vishnu’s Samajavaragamana emerged as a double blockbuster, Anand Devarakonda’s Baby is heading towards emerging as a smash hit in USA.
After a strong weekend, Baby performed on a decent note on the first Monday. Despite a working day, the film managed to gross $ 50K and surpass the $ 400K mark in four days including Thursday premieres. This is a phenomenal run for a small film made on a shoestring budget and with new-age stars. The youthful elements struck a chord with the target audience. It is likely to gross more than $ 600K in its full run.
Sleeper hit Samajavaragamana touched a huge milestone as it entered the prestigious million-dollar mark. Even two weeks after its release, the film managed to collect decent revenues in the concluding weekend. By Monday, the film touched the magical mark of $ 1M. In terms of return on investment, Samajavaragamana is one of the biggest hits in recent times. The slapstick comedy and family drama turned out to be the selling points of the film.
Trade circles are anticipating a good start for Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej starrer Bro which is slated for release next week.
