USA BO: Jawan hits $ 5.5M, MSMP eyes $ 1M

Shah Rukh Khan’s latest action entertainer Jawan is making a killing at the box office. The Atlee directional is putting on an outstanding show in all territories. After a record-breaking start on Thursday and a steady run on Friday, Jawan gained huge momentum during the first weekend.

In North America (USA+Canada), Jawan is wreaking havoc with its stupendous run. The film punched out $ 5.5 million ( approx) by the end of Saturday. On Thursday, Jawan grossed $ 1.3 Million and followed it up with another terrific $ 1.7 million on Friday. With a fantastic Saturday, the film grossed close to $ 2.5 million and screamed past the $ 5.5 Million mark which is a phenomenal feat. It is expected to rake in another $ 2 million on Sunday and end the weekend on a bang.

After Chennai Express and Pathaan, Jawan is the third film in Shah Rukh Khan’s career to hit the $ 5 million mark. No other Indian actor has got three films in the elite club.

Meanwhile, Telugu film Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty(MSMP) is running with packed houses in USA. The footfalls saw a huge surge on Saturday due to the glowing word of mouth. After securing $ 550K from its first two days including Wednesday premieres, the romantic entertainer grossed close to $ 300K on Saturday. It is eyeing $ 1 million by the end of Sunday. The film will emerge as a blockbuster in USA.
