Mumbai: Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela has once again found herself at the centre of controversy following her recent remarks in a media interview. Known for her appearances in Telugu films such as *Waltair Veerayya* and *Skanda*, the actress stated that a temple had been built in her name in North India and expressed hope that her South Indian fans would do the same.
“In North India, there is a temple named after me near the Badrinath Temple — the Urvashi Temple. It was built in my honour. Since my debut in Tollywood with Chiranjeevi’s film and subsequent roles alongside star heroes, I’ve garnered a strong fan base here as well. I hope fans in the South will also build a temple for me,” she said during the interview.
The comments quickly went viral on social media, prompting mixed reactions. While some users lauded her self-confidence, others criticised the remarks as exaggerated and unnecessary. In particular, her suggestion that fans should build a temple in her name has attracted significant trolling online.
Urvashi Rautela has previously made headlines for controversial statements. In an earlier instance, she claimed that one of her films had grossed ₹100 crore, while a film starring Kiara Advani released around the same time had failed at the box office — a comparison that drew considerable criticism.
Her latest comments have reignited discussions around celebrity statements and their reception in the public domain.
