Undavalli Arun Kumar, former MP from Rajahmundry in East Godavari district, addressed the media, congratulating the NDA coalition government for coming to power in the state. He extended his congratulations to Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, noting that Chandrababu now has an opportunity to influence decisions in Delhi. Arun Kumar emphasized that the Modi government’s success at the Centre was partly due to the alliance in Andhra Pradesh and warned that without this alliance, the state could suffer losses. He urged that Andhra Pradesh should receive its due benefits, including the continuation of the Polavaram project, halting the privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant, and the establishment of a railway zone. Arun Kumar also called for the 11 YSRCP MLAs to actively participate in the assembly sessions and fight for these issues.
Arun Kumar compared the current political climate in Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu, where Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa had a similar dynamic. He noted that the YSRCP’s defeat was influenced by rising middle-class prices and misconceptions about EVMs. He also requested the government to continue with the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act case currently in court, suggesting it be discussed in the first session of Parliament.
