Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has announced a modification in ticket issuance within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. Starting immediately, Family-24 and T-6 tickets will no longer be issued in this area. This decision is a response to increased passenger traffic following the Mahalakshmi scheme, offering free travel for women and transgender individuals on TSRTC-operated buses.
TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar stated that the alteration aims to address delays caused by the scheme’s rising demand, as the ticket issuance process involves identity card verification and age entry. To enhance efficiency and reduce inconvenience, TSRTC has opted to discontinue these tickets within GHMC limits, showcasing its commitment to adapting services to evolving passenger needs and welfare scheme dynamics.
