Filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas shared his cherished memories of working with legendary lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry during his appearance on the talk show Naa Uchvasam Kavanam. Recalling how Sirivennela’s lyrics had a lasting impact on him, Trivikram revealed that it was the song “Vidhatha Thalapuna” that first sparked his deep interest in music. “I wasn’t interested in songs until I heard that track. It led me to explore Telugu dictionaries to understand the richness of the words,” he said.
Trivikram also highlighted Sirivennela’s ability to write deeply meaningful lyrics using simple language. “I thought he couldn’t write regular commercial songs, but ‘Botany Paathamundi’ from Shiva proved otherwise. He redefined the art of simplicity in writing,” Trivikram explained. He also praised the lyricist for his contribution to films like Money, where Sirivennela was able to mix commercial elements with intellectual depth, setting new trends in the industry.
Reflecting on their personal connection, Trivikram shared that their bond grew stronger during the making of Anaganaga Oka Akasham. “Sirivennela believed that audiences were more intelligent than we assumed and always sought to connect with them on a deeper level,” Trivikram concluded. He expressed admiration for how Sirivennela’s lyrics continued to inspire generations, underscoring their timeless appeal.
