Telugu film industry has decided to halt all shootings for one day as a mark of respect for media baron Ramoji Rao who passed away in the wee hours of Saturday. The producers council officially released a press statement that all shootings scheduled for Sunday will be cancelled as the film industry mourns the loss of Ramoji Rao.
Ramoji Rao, chairman of Eenadu group of companies, died in a private hospital in Hyderabad due to ill-health. As soon as the news of his death came out, condolences poured in from all quarters across the country. Noted personalities from a cross-section of fields expressed grief over the departure of Ramoji Rao. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CMs of Telugu States, former Vice president, actor Pawan Kalyan are among those who paid deep respects to the bereaved soul.
Ramoji Rao’s dead body was kept in his Film City in Hyderabad for public visit. Many notable dignitaries of Tollywood rushed to the location to pay final respects to Rao. Meanwhile, the Telangana government decided to perform his funeral rites with full state honours on Sunday.
