The ongoing conflicts within the Manchu family have been the talk of the town for the past few months. In an unexpected turn of events, actor Manchu Manoj, son of veteran actor Manchu Mohan Babu, was detained by the Tirupati police late Monday night.
According to reports, Manchu Manoj was taken into police custody on Monday night between 11 PM and 1 AM in connection with the family feud. He was reportedly arrested at his residence in Tirupati and was taken to the Bhakarapet police station. Sources suggest that his detention followed a complaint filed by his father, Mohan Babu, regarding the ongoing dispute.
Recent reports indicate that he was denied entry into Mohan Babu University in Tirupati. Following his detention, he staged a protest outside Bhakarapet police station on Monday night, expressing his dissatisfaction with the police action.
Manoj claimed that while staying at Lake Valley Restaurant, police questioned his bouncers and summoned them to the station. Upon arriving at the station, he alleged that the sub-inspector was absent and accused authorities of unnecessarily troubling him.
During the incident, the actor confronted the Circle Inspector over the phone, demanding an explanation for his treatment when his intent was to support students at the university. Videos of him speaking with the inspector over a phone and protesting outside the station are doing rounds on the internet.
Earlier, Manchu Manoj and his wife Bhuma Mounika attended the Jallikattu celebrations in the Chandragiri constituency of Chittoor district, where he was invited as a chief guest. He received a grand reception from TDP and Janasena supporters, complete with fireworks and firecrackers.
