The upcoming film ‘800’ is one of the much-awaited projects of this year as it is the biopic of the former Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan. The film shows the unseen journey of this legendary cricketer.
Today on the occasion of the popular cricketer’s birthday, the makers took to their Twitter handle and dropped the link to the motion poster of 800. Sharing the same, Movie Train Motion Pictures wrote- ‘We are proud to bring you his story beyond the twist & turns across 22 yards. #HappyBirthdayMuralidaran. Presenting 800, the official bio-pic of #MuthiahMuralidaran starring #MadhurrMittal. Directed by #MSSripathy.’
Muttiah Muralitharan is considered one of the greatest bowlers in the history of this sport, as he is the only bowler to take 800 wickets in test matches. Interestingly, the title 800 also derives the total number of his test wickets.
The film which is directed by MS Sripathy was initially planned with Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. However, the Uppena actor received backlash due to his political interests and thus was replaced by the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame Madhur Mittal.
Apart from the lead role, 800 also has a stellar cast of Narain, Vela Ramamurty, Nasser, Arul Doss, Riythvika, Vadivukkarasi, Hari Krishnan, Yog Japyee, Sharath Lohitashwa and others portraying in the key roles.
The film wrapped up its production world and is currently waiting to grace the theaters soon. As per the latest sources, the film will be released in four different languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English.
