Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe (LCU) began with Karthi starrer ‘Kaithi’, released in 2019. Following the film, the LCU has since expanded with acclaimed films like ‘Master’, ‘Vikram’, and ‘Leo’, which garnered high acclaim critically and commercially with their gripping narratives and Kanagaraj’s cinematic vision.
Adding to the anticipation, Lokesh and Karthi are reuniting for the blockbuster sequel ‘Kaithi 2’. Earlier, in an interview, Lokesh revealed that the film features all the leading stars of LCU reprising their characters. However, due to Thalapathy Vijay’s commitment to his political career and his announcement of retiring from film after the ‘Thalapathy 69’ project, there was concern among his fans about his involvement in future LCU projects.
In a twist, recent reports suggest that Thalapathy Vijay will be part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Kaithi 2’. However, it is not confirmed yet about the actor’s appearance, but as per Indian Glitz, recent reports suggest that Vijay will lend his voice to the highly anticipated film.
Speaking more about LCU, it will expand with more films, including Kaithi 2, Vikram 2, and a standalone project featuring Suriya’s character, Rolex.
Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently working on his next film featuring Superstar Rajinikanth, titled ‘Coolie’. The production recently commenced with Shruthi Haasan in the lead female role, and Sathyaraj is also part of the cast. Additionally, there are rumors about Siva Karthikeyan and Fahadh Faasil joining the cast, but an official announcement has not yet been made by the makers.
