Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s 69th film will be his last silver screen outing as he is set to take a plunge into Tamil Nadu politics very soon. His latest film Greatest of All Time evoked a mixed response from audiences and ended as a below average grosser at the box office. Meanwhile, his 69th film is ready to start rolling. As announced earlier, H. Vinoth will helm this much anticipated project of Kollywood.
On Saturday, the makers of Thalapathy 69 revealed the concept poster of the film and it seems like Vijay’s parting shot will be a social drama which revolves around contemporary politics. Reports are rife that it is going to be an emotional drama unlike those commercial potboilers did by Vijay so far.
The striking poster has a sketch of hand holding a torch flame with the caption ‘ The Torchbearer of Democracy ‘ arriving soon. This poster drops enough hints about the genre of the film. Ace music composer Anirudh Ravichander will score the soundtrack for this epic drama.
H Vinoth is known for directing films like Sathuranga Vettai (2014), Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), and three movie with Ajith namely Nerkonda Paarvai (2019), Valimai (2022) and Thunivu (2023).
Thalapathy 69 releases in theaters in October, 2025. KVN productions will bankroll the film.
