Hyderabad: The Telangana government has officially unveiled the memento for the upcoming Gaddar Awards, which are being reintroduced after a decade-long gap. Named in honour of revolutionary balladeer Gaddar, the awards are scheduled to be presented on June 14 at a grand ceremony to be held at Hitex, Hyderabad.
The uniquely designed memento features a hand wrapped in a film reel, holding a drum (dapppu), with the Telangana state emblem imprinted on the drum. Officials stated that the drum was chosen as a tribute to Gaddar’s iconic identity. The memento was jointly developed by the Telangana State Film Development Corporation and the Department of Cinematography.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will present the awards, with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and several leading figures from the Telugu film industry expected to attend. As part of the lead-up to the event, hoardings are being installed across Hyderabad to promote the ceremony.
