Hyderabad: The Telangana government is contemplating remove the retired employees who continue working in various capacities within the state government. Notably, officers who retired during the BRS regime were reappointed by the previous government due to their experience. Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari has issued an order directing details of such retired officers in government departments to be submitted by Wednesday at 5 pm. This move has triggered discussions about the fate of those currently working in various departments, including IAS, IPS, and IFS officers, as well as former state government employees in higher positions.
The government has granted extensions of one to two years to these individuals, but concerns have arisen regarding the potential transmission of sensitive government information. There is growing consensus that sending them home may be a viable solution in this context.
