Telangana Government Hikes Ticket Price For ‘Game Changer’

Friday, April 18, 2025

All eyes are on Ram Charan’s highly anticipated political thriller ‘Game Changer,’ helmed by Shankar. The film is all set to hit theaters on January 10 as the first Pongal release of the year. Fans are eagerly looking forward to the film, marking the actor’s return to a solo release after a five-year gap.

Amid high anticipation, concerns arose among moviegoers following the Sandhya theater stampede incident, where Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy initially announced restrictions on benefit shows and ticket price hikes. However, giving a big relief to the filmmakers, the government has now issued a G.O., approving a ticket price increase for Game Changer. The Telangana Government has officially released a G.O. allowing a hike of Rs. 150 for multiplex theaters and Rs. 100 for single theaters on the release day.

Although the team’s request for a 1 AM screening on January 10 was declined, the government gave a green signal to the 4 AM shows, with six shows allowed screening on the release day. Following the release date, from January 11 to 19, theaters can screen five shows daily, with reduced price hikes of Rs. 100 for multiplexes and Rs. 50 for single screens.

The film’s release will see stiff competition from other Pongal releases, including Bala Krishna’s Daaku Maharaaj on January 12 and Victory Venkatesh’s ‘Sankranthi Ki Vasthunnam’ on January 14.
