The Andhra Pradesh Government, led by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, has renamed six welfare schemes under the Social Welfare Department. These schemes, previously named after former Chief Ministers YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, have been rebranded with new titles.
The renamed schemes are as follows: Jagananna Vasathi Deevena is now Post Matric Scholarships (MTF), Jagananna Civil Services Protsahakam (JCSP) is now Incentives for Civil Services Examination, YSR Vidyonnathi is now NTR Vidyonnathi, YSR Kalyana Masthu is now Chandranna Pelli Kanuka, Jagananna Vidya Deevena is now Post Matric Scholarships (RTF), and Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena (for SCs) is now Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi (AOVN). The prefix ‘Chandranna’ honors the current Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, while ‘NTR’ honors the Telugu Desam Party founder and former Chief Minister.
