Film Industry is a place of many rituals, cliches, and sentiments. Makers often try to make movies that trend and strike a chord with the audience. Now the latest thing that is going on in Tollywood is the new craze for dual roles after a long time.
Apart from Baahubali, we have seen fewer movies that have the lead stars playing dual roles but all of a sudden, upcoming movies of star heroes are again trying this formula. Mega power star Ram Charan Tej’s ‘Game Changer’ directed by Shankar would have dual roles of Charan as he will be seen as a father in the flashback and as a son who is also an IPS officer in the present day. The same director Shankar is all set to repeat the magic of ‘Bharateeyudu’ with the sequel Indian-2 where the Universal Star Kamal Haasan will also be seen in dual roles mostly as a father and son.
The RRR star Taarak’s ongoing film ‘NTR30’ might have two roles of NTR Jr one as an old man and another as a young savior. Already NTR Jr tried triple roles in ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ with ease and grace. As these movies are not enough, the Pan-Indian star Prabhas was speculated to be seen in double roles in Prasanth Neel’s ‘Salaar’ but an official confirmation is awaited. Even the lady superstar Samantha is portraying two roles in her Bollywood flick ‘Vampires’ starring Ayushman Khurana which was directed by Amar Kaushik. One has to wait and see if this newfound trend brings much-needed success to all these projects or not.
