Kollywood star actor Suriya has officially kicked off his next project, tentatively titled ‘Suriya 46,’ following the success of his recent release, Retro. The actor had earlier announced his collaboration with the director Venky Atluri, and today it has officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony.
The grand pooja ceremony was held at RamaNaidu Studios in Hyderabad today with an auspicious start. The event was graced by the film team, including Suriya, Mamitha Baiju, Venky Atluri, GV Prakash Kumar, and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. Popular filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas attended the event as the chief guest and clapped the muhurtham shot.
This bilingual project, aimed at both Tamil and Telugu audiences, marks a major collaboration as it is being produced by Tollywood’s prestigious banner, Sithara Entertainments, in association with Fortune Four Cinemas, backed by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya.
Premalu actress Mamitha Baiju is playing the female lead, with a cast including veteran stars Raveena Tandon and Radhika Sarathkumar also playing significant roles. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music for this untitled film, reuniting with Venky Atluri after their successful collaborations on Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, aiming for a hat-trick.
The makers have announced that the film’s shooting will commence by the end of the month, reportedly May 30. Also, they announced that the film is going to be released in summer 2026.
