The Supreme Court today issued notices to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and the CBI in the disproportionate assets case. The apex court sought a response. The bench comprising Sanjiv Khanna and S V N Bhatti asked the CBI the reason for the delay in the case.
YSR Congress MP Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju approached the Supreme Court requesting to move the case to another state as the case by the CBI is getting delayed for no reason. He stated in the petition that the case was postponed more than 3,000 times and now the Supreme Court asks for an answer from Jagan and CBI.
The petitioner stated that he was surprised with the way the CBI and Enforcement Directorate are silent on these cases. He alleged that there is no real interest from these agencies in the proceedings of the criminal trials.
