Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has revealed that his son Ahan Shetty faced deliberate sidelining from multiple film projects after signing for Border 2, the sequel to the 1997 blockbuster war drama Border.
Speaking about the challenges, Suniel said that despite the setbacks, Ahan has formed strong bonds with co-stars Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh during the making of Border 2. “They treat Ahan like a younger brother. Perhaps I made mistakes in the past, which is why Ahan was targeted and removed from some films. But fate cannot be changed,” Suniel remarked.
Highlighting the importance of hard work over shortcuts in the industry, Suniel expressed confidence that Border 2 would achieve major box office success, aiming to surpass ₹500 crore in collections. He also hoped that Ahan would gain recognition alongside leading stars like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh.
Suniel clarified that his son’s opportunities in cinema are not the result of family lineage but stem from Ahan’s personality, voice, and humility. In a notable generational shift, Suniel starred in the original Border, while his son Ahan now plays a role in its highly anticipated sequel.
