Ace Tollywood filmmaker Sukumar is known for encouraging many of his proteges to take up direction. One such assistant from Sukumar’s team who made a splash is writer Buchi Babu. He made a striking directional debut with Uppena and announced his arrival on the big stage. Now, he bagged a golden opportunity to direct Ram Charan in his second film.
Bucchi Babu initially planned to team up with NTR for his next project. But due to unknown reasons, the script changed hands from NTR to Ram Charan. Sources in Sukumar’s camp revealed that Bucchi Babu got a lot of support and encouragement from his godfather in fine-tuning the script. Sukumar gave a lot of inputs to Bucchi Babu while working on the script and also recommend him to Charan.
When Charan was in a dilemma over his next project after Shankar’s film, it was Sukumar who suggested Bucchi Babu’s name to him. Charan agreed to team up with Bucchi Babu despite his inexperience because of Sukumar’s endorsement. Charan knew Sukumar will assist Bucchi Babu in the making of the film. So, he agreed to team up with him immediately after hearing the final draft.
It was Sukumar who produced Uppena and introduced him as director. Now, he helped him bag an opportunity to direct Ram Charan in his second film. So, Sukumar played a significant role in shaping Bucchi Babu’s career in Tollywood.
