SSMB29 : Rajamouli projects 1000 Crores budget

After the resounding success of RRR across the globe, iconic filmmaker SS Rajamouli is gearing up to kick-start the production of his next venture which is touted to be the most expensive film ever in the history of Indian cinema. Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu will be playing the lead protagonist in this action adventure, tentatively titled SSMB29, which unravels in the African jungle. Many speculations have been making rounds about the story and characters of this film. However, the makers are tight-lipped about these rumours.

Now, the latest buzz suggests that Rajamouli has reportedly projected a tentative budget of 1000 Crores for this highly anticipated magnum opus. A rough estimate of the remunerations and other finances required for the making of this film is said to have been arrived at by Rajamouli and his team before starting the pre-production phase.

As this will be an international film, renowned artists and technicians from different parts of the globe will be a part of it. So, the remunerations alone will cost nearly 500 Crores for the production house. And, the filming and other post-production activities will require another 500 Crores. This is just a rough estimate proposed by Rajamouli to KL Narayana, the producer. It will be bigger than both parts of Baahubali and RRR by a large margin.

Sources close to the team revealed that SSMB29 will be formally launched on August 9th this year as a coincidence with Mahesh Babu’s birthday. An extensive workshop is being planned for the pre-production phase which is likely to last nearly 6 months. The filming will commence next year.
