SS Thaman under huge pressure

Ace Tollywood composer SS Thaman is due for a hit album. He is now under huge pressure because he lined up Ram Charan’s pan-India film ‘Game Changer’ and Superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming big-ticket film ‘SSMB28’. Both these films are very crucial for Thaman’s career because they define the fate of his future offers.

Shankar Shanmugam usually prefers to work with top maestro AR Rahman. Surprisingly, he opted for Thaman for his upcoming social drama Game Changer. The title glimpse received a good response. However, Thaman’s minimalist background score in the glimpse got mixed response from critics. AR Rahman delivered the best albums and background scores for all of Shankar’s films. Songs play a very important role in his films. So, Thaman needs to live up to those high expectations in audiences. He will need to come up with his best work for Game Changer.

Also, Thaman is facing the ire of Mahesh Babu since the start of SSMB28. Mahesh initially rejected Thaman for this film. But, Trivikram promised to extract the best output from him. Till now, Thaman didn’t finalize a single tune for SSMB28. Reportedly, Mahesh is not pleased with Thaman’s negligence. He wants Trivikram to replace the composer immediately. But, Trivikram believes in Thaman’s caliber.

Thaman needs to come up with his best work for both these highly anticipated films to reinstate his place in Tollywood. There is heavy competition for him from Tamil composers like Anirudh Ravichander and Santosh Narayanan who are just now finding a foothold in Telugu cinema.
