Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Devarakonda is fast finishing the shooting formalities of his upcoming family entertainer ‘Family Star’ in the direction of Parasuram Petla. This film is slated for release on April 5th. After taking part in promotions, the Liger actor will immediately shift his attention towards ‘Jersey’ director Gautham Tinnanuri’s project which is tentatively called ‘VD12’.
VD12 is touted to be an espionage thriller set in the bygone era. The story has a connection with Sri Lanka and a major part of the film will be shot there in the next few months. The makers have scouted some interesting locations all over Sri Lanka to shoot key episodes in the story. The Liger actor will be seen as an intense police officer for the first time in his career. The posters unveiled at the time of the announcement revealed that he would be portrayed as an anonymous spy in this film.
Sree Leela was supposed to play the female lead opposite Vijay. However, she was replaced due to unknown reasons. Later, it emerged that Rashmika Mandanna is likely to paid up with him. The latest reports suggest that Animal fame Tripti Dimiri has been finalized as the heroine.
Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer. Sithara Entertainment banner is bankrolling this film on a solid budget.
