The theatrical trailer of Nikhil Siddhartha’s upcoming thriller ‘Spy’ is out this Thursday evening and it drops enough hints that the story revolves around the biggest mystery in the history of our country, that is the death of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Playing out at just over two minutes, the fast-paced trailer is filled with fleeting glimpses of the mission undertaken by Nikhil and his team to solve the mystery behind Netaji’s death. Besides this task, Nikhil has a personal goal to find out the culprits who killed his brother played by Aryan Rajesh. Nikhil as Jay takes the lead in the mission to achieve the target. He performs breathtaking stunts in his journey withstanding many obstacles. There is a tinge of emotion and patriotism blended with this mystery thriller.
The trailer begins on an intriguing note with a baritone voice-over which says ‘History betrays Truth’. Then starts the mission to unravel the truth. There is a menacing antagonist who is like a virus and he needs to be eliminated as per the conversation of top bureaucrats of our country. This is followed by Nikhil’s unwavering pursuit to complete the mission with the help of his friends played by Aishwarya Menon and Abhinav Gomatam. It ends on a high note with a glimpse of Rana’s cameo in the film.
The trailer is gripping enough to keep the audience invested from the very onset till the end. There are plenty of scintillating action blocks and Nikhil does a fabulous job in his role. He looks dynamic and performs daredevil chase sequences. The screenplay appears to be racy and taut. All supporting actors did a fine job and the production values are quite lavish and grand. Sricharan Pakala renders an effective and pulsating background score to enhance the setting and the cinematography is also terrific.
Director Garry BH should be appreciated for choosing a universal subject with an interesting plot point. The trailer has got enough baggage to pique the curiosity of moviegoers ahead of its release on June 28th.
Spy is produced by Rajasekhar Reddy and CEO Uppalapati Charan Tej on ED Entertainment banner.
