Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu’s Interview

Ayyannapatrudu, upon assuming the role of Speaker of the AP Assembly, signed his first order to lift the ban on three news channels. The previous YSRCP government had prohibited ETV Andhra Pradesh, ABN Andhra Pradesh, and TV5 channels from providing live coverage of the assembly.

After taking charge and entering his chamber, Ayyannapatrudu addressed the media. He mentioned that he learned yesterday about the ongoing ban on the three channels. Consequently, his first action as Speaker was to sign the order lifting the ban on these channels.

“There are various types of TV channels, and news channels should be valued. In Parliament and other places, all channels are given due consideration. Why were TV5, Eenadu, and Andhra Pradesh channels banned? When we realized yesterday that the ban was still in effect, we discussed it and decided to lift it. We do not view any channel with a vindictive attitude. All channels are equal for us, and we treat everyone with the same respect. If you receive that honor, you will receive it; otherwise, they will move on,” Speaker Ayyannapatrudu stated.
