Tamil star Siva Karthikeyan features in the biopic of late army officer Major Mukund Varadarajan in his upcoming film ‘Amaran’. Helmed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film stars Siva Karthikeyan and Sai Pallavi Senthamarai as the main leads.
Slated for a grand theatrical release for Diwali on October 31, 2024, the film is a biographical drama based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a commissioned officer in the Indian Army’s Rajput Regiment. Major Varadarajan was honored posthumously with the Ashok Chakra for his bravery during a counterterrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The makers of ‘Amaran’ shared the BTS video, titled ‘Making in Action’, featuring the making of the film and intense war sequences filmed in Kashmir, highlighting Sivakarthikeyan in a military uniform. Showcasing the struggles, battles, and sacrifices of Major Mukund’s “Anu Vidhaiththa,” a song from Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vishwaroopam’ plays in the background.
Promising a blend of action and drama, the film is produced by Kamal Haasan, Sony Pictures International Productions, and R. Mahendran under the banners of Raaj Kamal Films International along with Sony Pictures International Productions. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the soulful music for this drama.
The film also stars Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lullu Prasath, and others in significant roles. The technical crew includes CH Sai handling cinematography and R. Kalaivannan as the editor.
