Prominent businessman and former minister Siddha Raghava Rao has resigned from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). He submitted his resignation letter to party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today, citing personal reasons for his departure. The letter did not elaborate further on his decision.
Siddha Raghava Rao previously served as the forest minister in Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet following the TDP alliance’s victory in 2014. He was elected as an MLA from the Darsi constituency. However, in the 2019 elections, he contested as an MP from Ongole but was defeated. A year later, he and his son Sudheer joined the YSRCP.
Despite his alignment with the YSRCP, the Siddha family did not secure their desired Darsi seat in the upcoming elections. The YSRCP leadership offered Assembly seats in Addanki, Markapuram, and Ongole, but Siddha Raghava Rao showed no interest in these options.
