Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Congress president Y.S. Sharmila has alleged that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP Avinash Reddy, who is out on bail in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case, is intimidating witnesses. She expressed concern that key witnesses in the case are dying under suspicious circumstances.
Sharmila also raised concerns over the safety of Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, Sunitha, stating that those accused in the case could pose a threat to her. She mentioned that recent developments have raised serious apprehensions and emphasized that Sunitha has two children, underscoring the need for her protection.
Citing the affidavit filed by the government seeking the cancellation of Avinash Reddy’s bail, Sharmila stated that it contains allegations of witness intimidation. The affidavit reportedly mentions that Avinash summoned investigating officers and coerced them into signing false reports.
She further claimed that Avinash’s bail is obstructing justice for Sunitha and alleged that fabricated reports were created to implicate Sunitha and her husband in the murder. Sharmila also asserted that Avinash Reddy was present at the crime scene when the murder took place.
