Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), one of the world’s wealthiest Hindu temple trusts, is undergoing a significant leadership transition. The new alliance government has appointed senior bureaucrat J. Syamala Rao, an IAS officer from the 1997 batch, as the new executive officer (EO) of TTD, replacing A.V. Dharma Reddy.
Syamala Rao brings a wealth of experience from various departments, including health, municipal administration, urban development, and food and consumer affairs. He previously served as the Visakhapatnam district collector and is currently the principal secretary of the higher education department. His appointment as EO follows Dharma Reddy’s decision to go on leave.
Sources within the TTD trust anticipate a comprehensive overhaul of top administrative positions in the devasthanam in the coming weeks.
