Rajendra Prasad, the veteran actor, spoke candidly about the ongoing theater strike during the pre-release event of his latest film Shashtipurthi. The film, which marks his return after 38 years since Ladies Tailor, features Archana in a lead role alongside him. Directed by Pawan Prabha, the film also stars Rupesh and Akanksha Singh and is scheduled for release on May 30.
Addressing the issue of theater closures, Rajendra Prasad stated, “Closing theaters is not a decision that one individual can make; it needs to be a collective consensus. Unfortunately, some were misled in this matter, but ultimately the strike did not sustain. If Pawan Kalyan supports this, then it is justified. Those responsible for creating such disruptions must be identified to put an end to this issue. Declaring theater closures is a serious matter, and I hope incidents like this do not happen again. It is encouraging that Pawan Kalyan has taken responsibility and is actively seeking those behind this.”
On his career, Rajendra Prasad added, “I have never done films just to make money. Had I invested my earnings like some others, I would have amassed properties worth thousands of crores in Chennai and Hyderabad. I have always prioritized the quality of roles over financial gain. Pawan Kalyan is like a younger brother to me. Although I have not yet acted in his films, I hope that opportunity arises soon.”
