Natural Star Nani’s upcoming film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, which marks his second collaboration with director Vivek Athreya, has grabbed the attention instantly after its announcement last year. The intriguing first-look poster has further intensified the buzz on the film.
On the eve of Nani’s birthday today ( Feb 24th), the makers unveiled a striking glimpse that packs a solid punch as it portrays the ‘Hi Nanna’ actor in a raging avatar. Going by the one-minute glimpse, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is all about an irate guy who showcases his rage every Saturday.
The glimpse starts on an interesting note with a voiceover explaining Nani’s maverick and idiosyncratic approach in channeling his anger methodically and uniquely every Saturday. Nani makes a terrific and solid entry as Surya, showcasing his rage and intensity with ease. He punches his opponents with full vigor and follows it up with a mass avatar with a cigar in his mouth as he drives a rickshaw with an old man in the back seat.
The glimpse concludes with SJ Suryah’s menacing laugh wishing ‘Happy Birthday Brother’. He plays a police officer in this film. The connection of the story with ‘Saturday’ is kept under the wraps.
Nani gets a stunning transformation in this action entertainer after his classy act in Hindi Nanna. It looks like Vivek Athreya has presented the Ante Sundaraniki actor in a complete mass avatar and this teaser manages to enthrall his fans to the fullest.
The background score rendered by Jakes Bejoy is stupendous and fits the setting perfectly. The cinematography is impressive and the production values by DVV Entertainments are sublime. Priyanka Arul Mohan is the heroine but there is no hint of her in the glimpse.
All in all, the glimpse sets up high expectations for the film. Trade circles are betting big on this outing and the pre-release biz is likely to pick up more with this teaser. The film is slated for release in August this year.
