Telugu people flock to cinema halls in large numbers during the Sankranti festival. Especially, B and C centers will be bursting to the seams with moviegoers as they lap up mass films irrespective of the talk. To cash in on this tradition, many big-ticket films compete at the box office during this festival season to earn solid revenues at the ticket windows. The upcoming Sankranti festival will witness the clash of three notable films – Varasudu, Waltair Veerayya, and Veera Simha Reddy. All three films have been creating a lot of hysteria in Telugu States and there are high expectations from the trade’s perspective.
Inside sources from the industry revealed that all three films are going to offer a mass feast for moviegoers this Sankranti. The first look teasers of both Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy have already promised what is in store for the audience during the big festival. After a long gap, both Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi are locking horns at the box office with full-length masala entertainers. Both these films are said to be packed with plenty of whistle-worthy moments that will cater to the masses to the fullest. Heavy-duty action blocks, mass dialogues and signature dance moves are said to be the unique selling points for both these biggies.
On the other side, Dil Raju’s Varasudu, starring the biggest Tamil star Thalapathy Vijay, is also creating ripples all over. Though it is touted to be a family drama, sources close to the team informed us that the story is not devoid of the mass elements that are expected from Vijay’s films. Director Vamshi Paidipally is said to have infused a good dose of commercial elements keeping the Telugu audience in mind.
So, Sankranti 2023 is going to offer a platter full of mass films.
