Actress Samantha has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of a 15-year-old student in Kerala due to alleged ragging. The incident occurred in Thrippunithura, Ernakulam, where the victim, Mihir, was reportedly subjected to severe harassment by fellow students. According to reports, he was forced to lick a toilet and had his head dunked into a commode, leading him to take his own life by jumping from his apartment.
Reacting to the incident, Samantha highlighted the grave dangers of ragging and condemned the inhumane treatment inflicted on the student. She stressed that, despite stringent anti-ragging laws, students remain hesitant to report such incidents due to fear of retaliation.
“It is heartbreaking that a young student had to end his life because of ragging. Expressing condolences is not enough—strict action must be taken against those responsible. Authorities must conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice. Students facing harassment should have the courage to speak up, and society must support them,” she stated.
Samantha urged officials to take the Kerala incident seriously and emphasized the need for collective efforts to eradicate ragging from educational institutions.
