AP Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy responded to the exit polls released this evening, expressing confidence that their party will surpass expectations and perform better than the exit polls suggest. He highlighted a favorable trend for their party and stated that the election results will likely exceed the exit poll predictions.
Sajjala discussed a narrative suggesting that while BJP’s seats may decrease in the North, they will increase in the South, indicating that related surveys and analyses might have influenced the exit polls. He remarked that national media exit polls are showing that the party leading in the Lok Sabha exit polls tends to dominate Assembly elections as well. He emphasized that over the past five years, the government has directly benefitted women, which has been reflected in the strong voter turnout.
Regarding the opposition alliance’s claims of victory, Sajjala pointed out that their noise overlooks the silent voters’ impact. He asserted that the actual results on counting day will be better than the exit polls predict. Sajjala mentioned their goal of “Why Not 175,” underscoring that achieving this would require alliance parties to account for their opposition. He acknowledged the strong opposition voice and unity among all parties but stated that winning and forming a government under such circumstances would be a significant achievement.
Sajjala criticized Chandrababu for focusing on the Land Titling Act towards the end of the election campaign, questioning why he did not highlight his manifesto promises. He suggested that Chandrababu should answer this himself. Sajjala explained that Jagan has been committed to campaigning on the governance record of their party, pointing out that the same alliance in 2014 could not fulfill their promises. He concluded that YSRCP confidently asked for votes based on their track record, which will be clearly reflected in the election results.
