Amaravati – On Thursday, YSRCP senior leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy raised several questions directed at the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding its handling of the recent incident in Macharla, where YSRCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy was accused of destroying an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) at the Palvai Gate polling booth.
In a tweet, Sajjala stated that while Pinnelli would address the legal charges, the YSRCP has specific concerns that the ECI needs to address. He questioned how the video from the Palvai Gate booth, purportedly sourced from the official webcasting by the ECI, was leaked and why the Commission acted swiftly without verifying the video’s authenticity.
Sajjala pointed out that the ECI had acknowledged seven instances of EVM damage in the Macharla constituency. He questioned why the ECI had not released all the videos in full, to expose the culprits and ensure appropriate action is taken. He further highlighted that the videos showed clear evidence of TDP goons attacking innocent voters, yet no action had been initiated in these cases.
