After a 60 hour manhunt, Mumbai police seem to have zeroed in the suspect behind Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s attack during the intervening night of January 15-16. It is a known fact that the Devara actor was seriously injured by an unidentified person at his residence in Mumbai after he was stabbed multiple times at around 02:30 AM during a robbery bid . Saif was immediately rushed to Lilavati hospital for treatment. The suspect fled the building and he captured in the CCTV footage.
Mumbai police took the assistance of Railway Protection Force and detained a suspect in Chattisgarh while he was travelling on Mumbai – Jnaneswari express. As per reports, he is identified as Sandeep alias Akash. He was detained at Durg railway station and immediately taken into custody for further investigation. Though there is no official confirmation from the department so far, the news about the arrest is making headlines in the media.
After going through the CCTV footage, the Mumbai police launched a search operation and noticed that the suspect took a train at Dadar station. The train number and photo were sent to RPF to nab him at the earliest. Finally, he was detained at Durg station and the team from Mumbai is going to bring him back for further investigation.
The Mumbai police landed in Raipur to arrest the assailant behind the brazen attack. They are likely to enquire about his motive and how he gained access into the building. A photo of the alleged suspect is currently doing rounds on social media platforms.
Saif Ali Khan is out of danger after doctors performed surgery and removed the foreign objects from his spine. He is being closely monitored.
