S.S. Rajamouli, who launched Indian cinema into the international limelight with his masterpiece RRR, is still basking in global appreciation. The movie not only enthralled viewers in India but also made history in Japan by becoming the highest-grossing Indian film ever shown in the nation.
As part of promotions for the documentary RRR: Behind and Beyond, which premiered recently in Japan, Rajamouli went to the nation and met the fans and the media. During one such session, he was questioned about the upcoming Indian films he’s most looking forward to watching—and his response has sent the fans buzzing.
Rajamouli shared that three upcoming big-budget films have grabbed his attention:
“I am extremely excited about the releases of Jr. NTR starrer Dragon, written and directed by Prashanth Neel, Prabhas’s Spirit with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Peddi uniting Ram Charan and Buchi Babu Sana, director.
While Dragon and Peddi are already in the process of filming, Spirit has just begun pre-production. Yet, all three movies have already created immense hype all over the nation, owing to their big-name casts and promising creative personnel.
With Rajamouli’s stamp of interest, the hype around these projects has only grown stronger. His endorsement not only reflects his keen eye for storytelling but also signals that these films could shape the next wave of pan-Indian cinema.
