The highly awaited prequel of the hit 2022 film “Kantara,” named “Kantara: Chapter 1,” has encountered new trouble on its shooting schedule in Karnataka.
With Rishab Shetty once again playing the dual role of lead actor and director, expectations are high for this prequel epical. But during the recent shoot at Mani Reservoir, a shocking accident halted production. A boat with almost 30 members of the film unit, including Rishab Shetty and the camera unit, capsized on the midway journey, creating a panic on set.
Luckily, everyone on board made it off the boat safely to swim to shore and there was no loss of life or injury. But there was subsequently a loss in production due to a halt as the important items like picture equipment and props were also lost onboard when the boat flipped over.
The shoot, planned for 15 days along the picturesque Varahi river backwaters, has now been halted. The production team has reportedly taken shelter at a nearby resort in Yadur as they assess the damage and regroup.
What’s concerning is that this isn’t an isolated incident. Ever since the commencement of “Kantara: Chapter 1,” the crew has been dealing with recurring hurdles and unexpected accidents, raising concerns within the unit about the film’s turbulent journey.
