Review Breakdown
What Works
The first half is packed with laughs! Sudarshan as Krishna’s friend steals scenes with his accent and comedy timing. Lighthearted moments between Suhas and Shivani feel relatable, and Vennela Kishore’s cameo is hilarious. The mystery around Balwant’s job keeps you hooked until intermission.
What Doesn’t Work
The second half stumbles when it tries to get serious. Balwant’s secret feels uncomfortable no matter how hard Naresh acts. Emotional scenes come off forced, and the jokes land flat. The messy group chaos scenes drag on, making parts feel boring.
Actors Performance
Suhas keeps it real as Krishna – chill but solid in emotional scenes. Shivani Nagaram nails her comic moments, especially her “Orthodox family” dialogue. Naresh acts his heart out, but his character’s choices are hard to swallow. Sudarshan is the MVP for laughs! Prashanthi surprises in her debut role.
Technical Stuff
Vivek Sagar’s background music adds energy, though the songs aren’t memorable. Mahireddy’s cinematography works well. Director Gopi Acchara takes a bold risk with the story concept – it hooks you at first but feels shaky when mixing humor with serious messages.
Final Verdict
Go for the laughs, skip the drama! “Hi Balwant” works best as a time-pass comedy with killer jokes in the first half. If you’re in the mood for pure entertainment (and can ignore the awkward plot twist), it scores a decent 2.5/5.
