Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who is unable to get approval of the Congress high-command for the last 15 months is said to be surrendered to them and in a `compromise’ formula agreed to accept their list if Bodhan MLA Sudarshan Reddy is included in the cabinet.
This `surrender’ is likely to put aside aspirants like Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, Malreddy Ranga Reddy and Prem Sagar Rao from the cabinet race. As the party high-command responded positively to this formula, the cabinet expansion is likely to take place sometime next week.
Recently he was in New Delhi for three days, but unable to get clearance on cabinet expansion and failed to get an appointment of Rahul Gandhi. Moreover, Rahul Gandhi met TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud twice and reportedly gave him a four member list for cabinet expansion.
On the other hand, intelligence sources have said to be warned that the MLAs are losing confidence in him. It is said that more than 20 of the 64 Congress MLAs do not support him. Sensing the mood in the party that he is losing grip, Revanth Reddy has reportedly decided to build relations with the high command instead of a confrontation attitude.
That is why it is said that on Wednesday night, a dinner was suddenly given to the ministers and senior leaders of the Congress party. On this occasion, there are whispers that the CM had a special meal with state congress incharge Meenakshi Natarajan and later presented his compromise proposal to her.
It is reported that Sudarshan Reddy worked hard to strengthen the Congress party in the united Nizamabad district and was reminded that he had promised to give him a ministerial post if he came to power. Moreover, it is reported that this is Sudarshan Reddy’s last chance politically and that Nizamabad district has no representation in the cabinet.
Meenakshi Natarajan has reportedly responded positively and immediately conveyed the Chief Minister’s proposal to Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, who has given green signal. It is believed that CM Revanth Reddy is strategically pushing for Sudarshan Reddy to get the ministerial post so as to avoid leaders like Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy.
