After dedicating nearly five years to the Pushpa series featuring Allu Arjun, director Sukumar is now shifting his focus to a new venture. His next film, tentatively titled RC 17, will feature Global star Ram Charan in the main lead. Ram Charan is currently engaged in shooting for Peddi under the direction of Buchi Babu Sana. Following the film, he will work on RC 17.
Recently, during a visit to his hometown of Mattaparru in Andhra Pradesh, director Sukumar shared some insights into his next highly anticipated project. He confirmed that the script and pre-production work for RC17 are already underway. Devi Sri Prasad will helm the music for this flick, which marks a reunion of Sukumar, Ram Charan, and Devi, the trio that delivered the blockbuster rural film ‘Rangasthalam,’ raising fan expectations to a new level.
Sukumar also mentioned that he hadn’t visited his village in three years due to his tight schedule with Pushpa. He shared that he will again go and visit his village during the Sankranthi festival. Additionally, he shared that people in villages are still going to theaters to watch films, while in towns and cities, audiences are slowly moving towards OTT platforms.
