Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s upcoming pan-India film Tiger Nageswara Rao had its first look poster launch this Wednesday in five different languages. While the impressive trailer cut with Ravi Teja’s stupendous makeover for this rustic entertainer received a unanimous response from all quarters, the director’s comments during the launch event turned out to be a laughing stock among moviegoers and critics.
Director Vamsee, who delivered back-to-back duds like Dongata and Kittu Unnadu Jagrata, claimed that Tiger Nageswara Rao has the potential to collect 1000 Crores at the pan-India level. He stated that there are many elements in the film which is why it stands a chance to enter the 1000 Crore club. Though the director might not have seriously intended that the film would go on achieve such a massive feat at the box office and it is just a faux pas during his speech, he has been receiving a lot of criticism from trade analysts and industry circles for his overconfidence.
It is highly impossible for Ravi Teja to breach the 1000 Crore mark considering his stardom and market. Moreover, the director is coming off huge disasters in his career so far. Also, Ravi Teja’s previous film tanked heavily at the box office. It may have all the trappings to emerge as a big hit. But, collecting 1000 crores is far from reality. So, the director’s claims turned out to be trolling material on social media.
But, credit should be given to Vamsee for presenting Ravi Teja in a ferocious role in this film which is inspired by the rumours surrounding the infamous Stuartapuram village of Andhra Pradesh which was the brooding ground for so many ruthless bandits in those days. The film is based on a notorious thief with the same name.
Tiger Nageswara Rao is slated for release during Dusshera this year.
