Veteran Telugu actress Rashi, who rose to prominence in the 1990s with hits like Subhakankshalu, Gokulamlo Seetha, and Snehitulu, recently spoke about a significant turning point in her career during an interview with Big TV. Having started as a child artist, Rashi made a successful transition to lead roles and enjoyed immense stardom during the peak of her career.
Discussing the film Nijam, Rashi revealed that director Teja called her to his office to discuss her role, advising her to lose weight and arranging a trainer for her. She stated that she performed the film without makeup and was initially reluctant to shoot a particular scene on the first day, as she had not been informed beforehand. “Baburao garu convinced me, and reluctantly I did the scene. Later, even when Teja garu apologized, I told him I could not accept it,” she said.
Rashi further noted, “I felt the role would damage my image and hurt my fans. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened, and my career took a hit after that film. Recently, when asked which director I would like to forget, I mentioned Teja’s name. Although I worked with him in other films later, the incident with Nijam remains the truth.”
