The most hyped combination of maverick director Puri Jagannath and Energetic Star Ram Pothineni is back once again as they team up to make the sequel for their hit film ‘Ismart Shankar’. Titled ‘Double Ismart’, the hero has demanded and taken home a hefty cheque as his remuneration.
Puri has scored his career’s biggest flop in the name of ‘Liger’ and he even incurred a loss as his production house ‘PC Connects’ also invested in this movie. To come out of everything and to be back in form, Puri decided to make the sequel ‘Double Ismart’ which gave a much-needed hit for both himself and hero Ram, and the hero immediately gave his nod. For this movie, Ram demanded 30 crores of remuneration considering the career graph of Puri and the director agreed to it as Ram is his last ray of hope to score a hit at this juncture of the career post-Liger. This is said to be the career’s highest remuneration for Ram as he used to take something close to 20 crores until now. Touted to be a mass entertainer, Double Ismart will be released as a Pan-Indian flick by PC Connects.
Written and directed by Puri, himself and Charmee are producing this movie without taking remuneration but a cut in profits. Meanwhile, Ram completed the regular shooting of his ongoing movie ‘Skanda’ directed by Boyapati Seenu, and will start working for ‘Double Ismart’ from the month of September. ‘Skanda’ will be out on 15th September in the two Telugu states.
