Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest outing ‘Jailer’ is smashing records at the box office despite its mixed talk. The movie after falling into a safe zone has surpassed the lifetime collections of his contemporary Kamal Haasan’s Vikram.
Released on the 10th of August, Jailer opened up with bad reviews as some movie analysts declared it as a flop. However, the fanboy moments made the ardent fans of Thalaivar throng to the theaters and the talk improved with each passing day. Within just six days of its release, the movie grossed more than 415 crores thereby crossing Kamal Haasan’s career’s biggest hit Vikram which grossed 410 crores worldwide. Even in Telugu, Jailer is going strong since the competitor ‘Bhola Shankar’ bombed miserably with bad reviews. All in all, Rajini Kanth scored a much-needed hit after a series of duds except for Darbar. The movie seems to be unstoppable as it is on the way to setting new numbers in the career of Rajini Kanth.
Directed by Nelson, this movie is produced by Sun Pictures and Anirudh Ravichander scored the music. The movie has Mohanlal and Shivraj Kumar in cameos while the movie is filled with stars like Ramya Krishna, Tamannah Bhatia, Jackie Shroff, Sunil, Yogi Babu, etc.
