Rajinikanth touches Yogi’s feet in UP

Just before his latest offering, Jailer started creating a rampage at the box office all over South India, Superstar Rajinikanth embarked on a spiritual tour to North India last week. Like every year, Rajinikanth reached the Himalayas for solace and peace of mind. Having spent some time in solitude for more than a week there, he arrived at Lucknow on August 18th ahead of his meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

In a heartwarming gesture, Rajinikanth touched Yogi Adityanath’s feet at his Lucknow residence on Saturday evening. He greeted the UP CM with folded hands and touched his feet immediately. As per the latest reports, Rajinikanth will visit Ayodhya on Sunday to seek blessings as Jailer emerged as a box-office blockbuster. Directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar, Jailer has Rajini playing a retired officer who goes all guns blazing to take on the criminal gang that killed his son. His signature style swag coupled with blazing action elements received a roaring response from moviegoers.

Rajinikanth, who usually stays away from making any political statements, was recently at the center of controversy for making strong statements about those who targeted him for his affiliation with a political leader in Andhra Pradesh.
