Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s efforts to fill the gap generated with the Congress supreme leader Rahul Gandhi failed to yield results during a presentation program on the caste census at AICC headquarters. Though Rahul Gandhi mentioned CM Revanth Reddy’s name repeatedly and congratulated him, he continued showing contempt towards him.
Congress MPs and key leaders from all states across the country attended the presentation program and the caste census was a nationally important issue, so it is said that Rahul Gandhi mentioned Revanth’s name several times.
However, party sources say that Rahul Gandhi did not treat CM Revanth Reddy, who went to Delhi to explain the caste census to party leaders and MPs. It is learnt that CM Revanth Reddy was not given much importance in the initial internal party meeting and he was not given the opportunity to meet him personally.
It is learnt that no matter how much Revanth tried to talk to Rahul Gandhi in this meeting, he did not give him the opportunity. Even he did not show much interest in even looking at Revanth Reddy. During this meeting, he tried to find out his doubts about the caste census through Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka but did not make Revanth Reddy talk.
There is a discussion that Revanth Reddy was not even given the opportunity to give a bouquet. While Bhatti Vikramarka gave a bouquet to Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy gave a bouquet to party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Another discussion is going on in the party to say that Rahul is not on good terms with Revanth Reddy in this meeting.
After the meeting, Revanth Reddy shared a photo of himself meeting with key Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on his Twitter account. He said that he met Priyanka Gandhi and explained the details of the caste census. However, doubts are being expressed about sharing the photo with Priyanka Gandhi if a meeting was held with Rahul Gandhi and Kharge.
There has been a discussion for a few months that there has been a gap between Congress top leader Rahul and CM Revanth Reddy. It is clear that CM Revanth Reddy’s attempt to bridge this gap has failed once again.
